Below you will find information that might help you understand how to find things or learn about information you might need to know about your city or town.

  • No, we do not take reservations.  They are first come, first serve. Please hail the Harbormaster on VHF CH 12 upon arrival or call our office at 401-466-3204.

  • In season:  New Harbor Boat Basin seasonal office,  Daily 9-3

    Off Season: Town Hall , 16 Old Town Road, M-Th 9am-2pm, F 9am-12pm

  • You can reach the pumpout boat on VHF CH 73.

     Daily,  7am-5pm, Memorial Day through Columbus Day.

  • Showers are available at Town Beach Pavilion 9:00am-5:00pm from June 22 to September 2, and at Old Harbor Dock 24 hours a day,  Memorial Day to Columbus Day. 

    Tokens are available at both locations.  Rental mooring customers are permitted two free tokens with a valid mooring receipt.

  • In New Harbor, you can get fuel or diesel at:

        Champlin's Marina VHF CH 11, 401-466-7777 

        Payne's Dock 401-466-5572 (do not monitor radio).  

    In Old Harbor, there is no fuel or diesel.

  • Yes, you can hail Oldport Launch on VHF CH 68.  They run out of the New Harbor Boat Basin doing pickups on moorings, anchorage and other marinas.  Ask the launch driver of the working hours as they fluctuate throughout the season.

  • Preferred anchorage is east of the main navigation channel, your port side as you enter the harbor.  Hail the Harbormaster on VHF CH 12 for assistance. 

    THERE IS NO ANCHORING:

     west of the main navigation channel

    In the Town Mooring Rental Field

    Within 100 ft of a commercial dock

    Within 50 ft. of a residential dock, private mooring, or moored vessel

    In the Navigation Channel, fairways or recreation area

  • There is limited anchorage west of the Ferry landing in Old Harbor.  You will most likely have to raft up with another vessel, especially on busy holiday weekends. You may hail the Old Harbor Dockmaster on VHF CH 12 for further assistance.

    THERE IS NO ANCHORING:

    Within 100 ft of a commercial dock

    Within 50 ft. of a residential dock, private mooring, or moored vessel

    In the navigation channel or fairways

  • The public dinghy dock is located just past Payne's Dock at the end of the main navigation channel.  It is right in front of Dead Eye Dick's restaurant.

    PUBLIC DINGHY DOCK RULES

    • DINGHIES 12’ AND UNDER ONLY
    • NO OVERNIGHT DOCKAGE
    • DINGHIES LEFT ON DOCK FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS WILL BE REMOVED
    • VESSELS IN VIOLATION WILL BE IMPOUNDED AND FINED $100.00 PER DAY

    All three marinas also have dinghies.  Check with each marina for their policies.
