The Summer Softball League season runs mid-June through August. Limited to 4 teams. No more than 15 players per team, minimum of 10. Co-ed play. Slow pitch. Form your own team or contact the office to be placed on a team. Ages 16+

4v4 Beach Volleyball League
Have fun on the beach this summer! The season runs mid-June through August. Get a team together or contact the Recreation Department to get on an existing team. All games will be played North of Fred Benson Town Beach. No more than 6 players per team and no more than 8 teams in the league. Team rosters are first come first serve. Ages 16+

Saturday Night Futbol
Indoor Soccer at its best! Fun and fast paced! Co-Ed. Come get in shape. All equipment will be provided. Beginner to advanced players encouraged. Saturdays 9-10pm.
The pickleball craze has hit Block Island. Played with a paddle on a court, Pickle-ball is a cross between badminton, tennis, and ping-pong. All Skill levels are invited to play. Equipment will be provided. Fall/Winter: School Gym. Spring/Summer: Ball O'Brien Park. Ages 16+
Novice-Beginner program: Sundays 1-4pm, Tuesdays 8-10pm
Beginner program: Sundays 4-6pm
Advanced Program: Thursdays 8:30-10pm
Friday Night Games
No need for video games with this action-packed program that will cover a multitude of games that will keep your child active through the duration of the session. Grades 4 through 6. September - May, Friday nights 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the school gym.
Youth Soccer League
Your child will hone their soccer techniques with their peers. Skill work will be held on Tuesday/Thursday. Games held on Fridays. Children must be supervised by an adult for the duration of their practice period.

Narragansett League Youth Soccer
In partnership with Narragansett Recreation. 4th and 5th graders travel to Narragansett to compete against off island teams! Practices will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:55 to 3:55. Leave on the 8:15 boat Saturdays. Return 3:45 p.m. Narragansett Travel soccer registration
T.G.I.F.
No place better to be on Friday night then socializing and being active with your friends in a laid back atmosphere. Fridays 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. September - May at the school gym. Grades 7 to 12.
The Rec Center
The Rec Center is a fun and inviting place for Grades 8 to 12 to hang out in a safe and enjoyable environment. No reentry for 8th through 10th grade students. The Rec Center has a zero-tolerance policy regarding the use of drugs, tobacco, and/or alcohol as well as bullying/cyber-bullying and destruction of property.
Grades 8 - 12: Fridays and Saturdays 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Grades 5 - 7: TBD
Youth Basketball
Players will hone their basketball techniques with their peers and coaches.
2:55-3:00 pm Mondays (K-1st grade), Wednesdays (2nd-3rd grade), and Thursdays (4th-6th grade).Games will be held on Tuesdays 2:55-5:20 pm. (2:55 K-1, 3:40 2nd-3rd, 4:30 4th-6th)
Playoffs will be the held the last week of the season.

Narragansett Basketball League
In partnership with Narragansett Recreation. Participate in Narragansett Recreation Bradford Town Basketball League. Transportation provided. Additional activities will take place. Grades 4-6. Saturdays.
Spring Little League
Grades K through 5th.Teams will be broken down by grade and skill level to allow for six teams with an even number of players. Younger grades will play off of a tee and everyone bats. Older grades will be pitched to and play three outs. Games will be played by time constraints and not innings.

Toddler Time
Children will have the opportunity to interact with their peers in a minimally structured environment. Children 5 and under only. Parent supervision required. Some age-appropriate equipment will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own. Block Island School Gym.
Sundays, 9:00 am - 10:30 am. Starting Nov 13th.
Elementary Time
Children will be able to interact with other peers in a minimally structured setting. Gym will be divided to allow simultaneous activities. Some equipment will be provided, but we encourage you to bring your own. Majority rules on activity that will take place.
Sundays, 10:30 am - 11:30 am. Starting Nov 13th.
This session continues or introduces taekwondo. Self-discipline, confidence, and listening skills will be integral to helping master basic kicks, punches, forms, rolls, self-defense, basic terminology and breaking. With sustained interest, this continues or begins the path to a black belt in taekwondo. There is an attendance requirement to be considered for testing. If previous student, wear uniform and belt. Otherwise, sweatpants or leggings with comfortable top.
Instructor: Philip ‘Flip’ Porter is a Block Island resident with 30+ years martial arts training. (International Kukkiwon-certified Taekwondo Master, 4th Degree, 1st Degree Kenpo Karate,1st Degree Jujitsu, Brown belt Judo.)
