Shellfishing
SCALLOP SEASON IS NOVEMBER 4 2023-DECEMBER 31 2023
YOU MUST HAVE A TOWN OF NEW SHOREHAM SHELLFISH LICENSE TO CLAM IN THE WATERS OF BLOCK ISLAND
We work year round to provide a viable, renewable clamming resource. Our rules and regulations are to benefit both clammers and the shellfish. Our conservation and seeding efforts are to ensure the availability of this resource in the future. Please respect the Great Salt Pond and its fragile ecosystem.
Our wardens patrol the grounds daily and enforce all ordinances and regulations in accordance with Rhode Island General Law 20-3-7 and Town Ordinance Article lV Section 9 121-148.
