Commercial Shellfish licenses are issued annually and expire on December 31st of each year. Applications (PDF) are made to the New Shoreham Shellfish Commission who, after review, recommends action to the Town Council. Licenses are non-transferrable. A total of 20 resident and 1 non-resident licenses may be issued each year.
Fees
The fee for New Shoreham residents is $50 and $150 for non-residents. There is no fee for a Golden Commercial license for residents 65 years or older.
Requirements
- Applicants must hold a valid state commercial shellfish license with an appropriate shellfish endorsement or multi-purpose commercial license.
- Residents must have maintained a principal residence within the town continuously for at least 12 consecutive months prior to date of application or renewal.
