Important Dates for Voters


Presidential Preference Primary

March 3, 2024                    Voter registration/disaffiliation deadline.

March 12, 2024                  Mail ballot application deadline.

March 13- April 1, 2024    Early voting and emergency mail ballot period.

April 2, 2024                        Presidential Preference Primary.

Polls open 12pm and close at 8pm.

 

State Primary

August 11, 2024                                   Voter registration/disaffiliation deadline.

August 20, 2024                                   Mail ballot application deadline.

August 24 – September 23, 2024      Early voting begins and emergency ballot period.

September 10, 2024                            State Primary.

Polls open 9am and close at 8pm.


General Election Election Dates


The General Election will be Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at the Town Hall, Old Town Road. In order to participate, you must be registered to vote in New Shoreham on or before Sunday, October 6, 2024. You may register at the Town Clerk’s Office, Town Hall, Old Town Road, Block Island during regular business hours Monday through Friday 9:00 to 3:00. On Friday, October 4, 2024  you may use the elections drop-box outside of Town Hall (registration forms will be available).

Register to Vote

Voters must register 30 days before an election. You must be registered to vote from your actual place of residence. You may register in person at Town Hall, at the DMV, online(vote.ri.gov) or by mail:
